Work denied my PTO for the 18th and 19th. No trip to China for me. I am heartbroken. We are training new people at work, and no one will cover for me for those two days.

I'm so sorry for you. That sucks so bad. THere is nothing you can do about it? Oh, I really hope that changes. Keep us posted.

Deanna, since we haven't gotten permission to visit Nicholas, I'm not too stressed about the China trip. I think I'll instead focus on taking PTO as soon as my documents are complete so I can hand carry them to the China Consulate in Los Angeles instead of having to mail them or pay a courier.
